Crossroads With Belgium Migrants

 

The study focuses on the risks of diabetes and obesity Belgium migrants face in comparison with Belgian-born, as well as the prevalence of chronic disease in Belgium migrants across a) contexts of reception, b) pre-migration factors, and c) acculturation. The study mentions the roles of stress of migration and the socioeconomic factor when investigating Belgium migrants.

An in-depth part of the project works with asylum seekers with diabetes, and how they have managed their condition throughout migration to and reception in Belgium.
